Anti-D

Toy Design
As a Deaf child, I was subjected to countless medical tests. A strange creature prodded and tested by doctors, to gather data so they could fit me into their taxonomy of diseases.
The words on the dome of the figurine reflects the confusing narrative I had to contend with as I sought my humanity within a world where my difference was viewed as a frightening disability.
The words on head rotates, each pairing presents us with a contradictory thought.

ASL Storybook
Product Design
This is a favorite project of mine.
While working at Brilliant Echo, a Deaf / Disabled technology outfit, we collaborated with Gallaudet University, the oldest Deaf University in the world.
Language deprivation is a huge problem in our community, where majority of Deaf children lack access to resources tailored for them.
This project is based on neurological research that maps how Deaf children brains acquire language.
Based on their research, we built an interface to teach Deaf Children to acquire their vocabulary. In addition to a storybook creator to allow people all over the world to give their Deaf Children access to the written language.

Mexico Love
Original Comic
The 2020 upheaval sent me tumbling through Mexico. Where I met all sorts of magical creatures, swam in the mayan underworld, and star gazed on white beaches of Tulum.
This comic is my love letter to Mexico.
Urban Creatures
Paper Sculpture
Living in New York, I felt like that the city's biodiversity was a bit lacking.
In an attempt to restore ecological balance, this project imagines alien creatures roaming NYC sewers.

MATHER
Art Direction
I grew up in the shadow of Hollywood, as a child I was taught the magical powers of storytelling.
Yet the Deaf / Disabled community has been traditionally excluded from the moviemaking business
MATHER was a part of a movement to to create opportunities for Deaf / Disabled in front and behind the camera.
Starseed
Painting

This painting was inspired by a profound experience I had while camping out in the high Desert.

BIG NEXT!

LOOPS AF

8 Copra Lane
Deaf Space Architecture
Mom needed a house, so we designed and built one for her.
Utilizing the principles of Deaf Space, each room is connected via line of sight.
The visual network facilitates connection, people can communicate from nearly anywhere in the house using sign language.
Bonus, each room shares a spectacular view of the ocean.
Honestly, I don't know. I just wanted to build my mom the most loving, and beautiful home.
